Vegetarian Burgers 2 Ways.

I hate it when recipe authors give me a whole back story of why they wrote a recipe, so I'm never doing that! Get to the point already!


Ingredients:

1 tin of well rinsed lentils or pinto beans 1.5 cup gluten free breadcrumbs (recipe at end to make your own) 1 egg 1 carrot small


Italian burgers

1 tbsp tomato paste 1/4 yellow capsicum 1/2 tsp thyme 1 tsp oregano 1/2 tsp dried basil 1/2 tsp hing powder 1 tomato


Spicy burgers

Taco spice mix 1/2 tsp hing powder 1/4 tsp oregano 1.5 tsp cumin 1/2 tsp paprika 1/2 tsp tumeric


Method: Grate carrot speed, 10 secs Scrape sides of bowl

If Italian Chop capsicum and tomato speed 5.5, 3 secs

Add all the rest of the ingredients and mix. Speed 4.5, 10 secs.

Leave the measuring cup out so you can see how it's mixing. Might need to mix for a few more seconds.

Add more breadcrumbs if mixture is too soft to handle.

Roll mixture into eight patties and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Grill or fry patties.





Preheat oven 180

A few slices of low fodmap bread broken onto bits Process speed 4 9-10 secs Spread on a baking tray and bake 6-10 mins till golden

Process more for finer breadcrumbs
